Where Are They Now: George Brett

George Brett spent his entire career (1973 – 1993) with the Kansas City Royals. Brett’s 3,154 career hits are the most by any third baseman in major league history, and 15th all-time. Brett is one of four players in MLB history to accumulate 3,000 hits, 300 home runs, and a career .300 batting average. He’s Gold Glove winner and World Series Champ. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999. Today, he owns or co=owns afew minor league baseball and hockey teams.

Where Are They Now: Fran Drescher

Fran Drescher is best known for playing Fran Fine on the TV series “The Nanny,” for which she was nominated for two Emmys and Golden Globe Award. The showed aired from 1993-1999 and became an instant success. Since then, she’s has done a few movie and TV roles. In 2008, she was appointed as a U.S. diplomat by the U.S. State Department. Her official title is Public Diplomacy Envoy for Women’s Health Issues.  Sh is also a cancer survivor and wrote the book  Cancer Schmancer.

Where Are They Now: Malcolm-Jamal Warner

He is best known for his role as Theo Huxtable on “The Cosby Show.” Warner auditioned for the role on the last day of the nationwide search and was picked by Bill Cosby himself. Now, Warner now focuses on his passion for music as lead member of the jazz/funk band Miles Long. Their second CD, “Love & Other Social Issues,” came out in 2007.

Where Are They Now: Gary Burghoff

Gary Burghoff is best known as Corporal Walter Eugene “Radar” O’Reilly on M*A*S*H. He was also a frequent celeb on the game show Match Game in the 1970’s. Gary now works as a professional jazz drummer, heading the trio The We Three, and as a wildlife painter. He is also the inventor of, and holds a patent on, the “Chum Magic”, a fishing tackle invention that attracts fish to your boat.

Where Are They Now: Mike Schmidt

A third baseman for the Phillies from 1972 – 1989, Mike Schmidt is considered among the greatest third basemen in the history of major league baseball. A three-time National League MVP, he was a 12-time All-Star, won 10 Gold Gloves and was named The Sporting News Player of the Decade for the 1980s. In 1995, he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. In 2008, Schmidt released a wine called Mike Schmidt 548 Zinfandel, a reference to his 548 career home runs, with all of his proceeds donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Where Are They Now: Christine McVie

Christine McVie joined Fleetwood Mac in 1970, just after marrying bassist John McVie. She played piano and sang lead on many songs and contributed backing vocals to the Stevie Nicks tunes. Christine also wrote a number of Fleetwood Mac hits, including “Over My Head,” “You Make Loving Fun,” and “Don’t Stop.”
Christine left Fleetwood Mac after their 1997 tour citing exhaustion as the main reason. She moved back home to England and lives in Kent. She enjoys gardening and cooking, and remains close to her two brothers, as well as her young neice and nephew.

Where Are They Now: Steve Young

Steve Young is a former quarterback, best known for his time on the San Francisco 49ers. He also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and briefly in the USFL. Young was named the Most Valuable Player of the NFL in 1992 and 1994, the MVP of Super Bowl 29, and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2005. He still holds the NFL record for highest career passer rating. He is now an analyst for Monday Night Football.

We knew her best as Mindy McConnell, the human to Robin Williams’ extraterrestrial Mork on “Mork & Mindy.” The show ran from 1978 to 1981 and really launched the career of Robin Williams. Pam Dawber went on to star in the sitcom ”My Sister Sam” and had some movie roles, mainly on TV. She has been married to actor Mark Harmon for 23 years. They have two children, so she spends most of her time being mom. She is also a spokesperson for Big Brothers, Big Sisters of America.

Where Are The Now: Dirk Benedict

Dirk played the role of Lt. Starbuck on the original “Battlestar Galactica.” Remember him as the wisecracking, cigar chomping pilot? Then he landed the biggest role of his career … Lieutenant Templeton “Face” Peck on “The A-Team.” This series ran from 1983 to 1987 and co-starred George Peppard and Mr. T. He hasn’t been seen too much lately, but in 2007, he finished third on the British version of Celebrity Big Brother.
