Where Are They Now: George Brett

George Brett spent his entire career (1973 – 1993) with the Kansas City Royals. Brett’s 3,154 career hits are the most by any third baseman in major league history, and 15th all-time. Brett is one of four players in MLB history to accumulate 3,000 hits, 300 home runs, and a career .300 batting average. He’s Gold Glove winner and World Series Champ. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999. Today, he owns or co=owns afew minor league baseball and hockey teams.

Where Are They Now: Fran Drescher

Fran Drescher is best known for playing Fran Fine on the TV series “The Nanny,” for which she was nominated for two Emmys and Golden Globe Award. The showed aired from 1993-1999 and became an instant success. Since then, she’s has done a few movie and TV roles. In 2008, she was appointed as a U.S. diplomat by the U.S. State Department. Her official title is Public Diplomacy Envoy for Women’s Health Issues.  Sh is also a cancer survivor and wrote the book  Cancer Schmancer.

Where Are They Now: Malcolm-Jamal Warner

He is best known for his role as Theo Huxtable on “The Cosby Show.” Warner auditioned for the role on the last day of the nationwide search and was picked by Bill Cosby himself. Now, Warner now focuses on his passion for music as lead member of the jazz/funk band Miles Long. Their second CD, “Love & Other Social Issues,” came out in 2007.

Where Are They Now: Gary Burghoff

Gary Burghoff is best known as Corporal Walter Eugene “Radar” O’Reilly on M*A*S*H. He was also a frequent celeb on the game show Match Game in the 1970’s. Gary now works as a professional jazz drummer, heading the trio The We Three, and as a wildlife painter. He is also the inventor of, and holds a patent on, the “Chum Magic”, a fishing tackle invention that attracts fish to your boat.

Where Are They Now: Mike Schmidt

A third baseman for the Phillies from 1972 – 1989, Mike Schmidt is considered among the greatest third basemen in the history of major league baseball. A three-time National League MVP, he was a 12-time All-Star, won 10 Gold Gloves and was named The Sporting News Player of the Decade for the 1980s. In 1995, he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. In 2008, Schmidt released a wine called Mike Schmidt 548 Zinfandel, a reference to his 548 career home runs, with all of his proceeds donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
