Where Are They Now: Pete Rose

05 March 2010 | By Sonja in Uncategorized

Pete Rose played from 1963 to 1986, and managed from 1984 to 1989. He is best known for his 19 years with the Cincinnati Reds, but he also played for the Phillies and the Expos. He is still the all-time Major League leader in hits (4,256). He won three World Series rings, three batting titles, one Most Valuable Player Award, two Gold Gloves, the Rookie of the Year Award, and made 17 All-Star appearances at an unequaled five different positions.
In August 1989, Rose agreed to permanent ineligibility from baseball amidst accusations that he gambled on baseball games while playing for and managing the Reds. In 2004, he admitted to betting on baseball and on, but never against, the Reds.
He will be the guest host for Monday night RAW on March 22.
