23 February 2010 | By Sonja in UncategorizedOn February 22, 1980, team captain and forward Mike Eruzione led the U.S. Men’s hockey team to upset the heavily-favored Soviet Union 4-3 in the Olympic semifinal before beating Finland for the gold medal. The Soviet game has since been considered one of the most memorable events in the history of American sports and has been dubbed the “Miracle on Ice.”
He now works at Boston University. His current title is “director of special outreach.” His job description involves fund-raising and alumni relations on behalf of the school and its athletic department. When he’s not at BU, he’s traveling, sometimes for BU and sometimes on his own, doing motivational speaking, meeting people, and playing in celebrity golf tournaments.
